Drinking Brews and Writing Reviews…
Beer geek, tech geek, design geek... hell, all around geek. I can often be found enjoying a brew at one of my favorite spots in Baton Rouge or New Orleans. I’m a Cicerone certified beer server and have worked in the beer industry (sitting behind monitors and a keyboard programming) for several years.
Some of my hobbies that don’t have anything to do with beer include web design, graphic design, and photography. I’m originally from Birmingham, Alabama, and came to Louisiana when I finished college at the University of Alabama. I’m a sucker for a warm climate, great food, and friendly people, so I decided to make it my home.
In the last five to ten years or so, the craft explosion has finally started reaching the south, so while I was a little reluctant to start a craft beer review site, I was persuaded by the flurry of activity and influx of new brews and breweries to the area. Thanks for visiting, Cheers!
I’m a fortyish beer fan that got his start on the road to craft beer infatuation when tending bar during grad school in the late 1990s. As a lifetime resident of the Deep South, I also have a passion for all things football.
I am somewhat of an odd duck in the world of craft beer fans as I just don’t like IPAs. Too hoppy. With that out of the way, I love Belgian Ales, Porters, Stouts, Lagers, well, almost anything other than IPAs, so I won’t be reviewing them. Everything else is fair game. There are plenty of craft beer reviews out there that cater to those who are conversant with all the technical beer terminology, but I didn’t see that many that are directed at the casual beer fan or someone new to the delightful world of beer. So I’ll aim my reviews more to the novice side of the spectrum, while hopefully still including enough useful information as to not offend the beer gurus out there.
